Abra Kadavar

Last week I went to Magasin 4 (one of Belgian greatest concert venues) to see Kadavar & Spirits of The Dead.

I went early with some friends to catch a beer before the show and check out the merch. When we got in Hellhorse was ready to destry the place. Their sound is a mix of Orange Goblin and some punkers. It's not really my kind of music, but still they putt down a energetic and nice show.

Up next was Spirits of The Dead, I had quite high expectations of the show because I really love their debut album. The set was with no doubt pretty solid and they had amazing sound, although I didn't really feel the vibe. Maybe next time they convince me...

Then it was time for the almighty Kadavar. It was my third time that I saw them and they disappoint never.
It was an epic gig, solid riff, bad ass drumming and clean vocals. Kadavar came, and destroyed. Everybody was like in a trance. These guys keep it simple, and that's the way I like it. After the gig I went to the merch booth and the LP's and CD's were selling a "sweet breads" (as the saying goes here in Belgium). I picked up the debut LP and went home after this awesome (and pretty cheap) night out!

Nick

I'll Cut You Down!

The 70ies sound, the solid riffs, the psychedeic visuals and very talented musicians.

Uncle acid and the deadbeats are pretty much a legend in the scene, so promoting them here is useless. Although, this song can't be shared enough.

They have a new record out called "Mind Control" and it is also a blast! Get it while it's hot!!

Cheers Nick.

The Restless Choice #1 - Planet Of Zeus

The Restless Choice is (normally) a weekly blog post about a must see band.

The first band I want to put in this almighty (ha ha) spotlight is Planet Of Zeus, hailing from Greece.
The bring a mix between solid stoner and southern rock. Best to compare with a child of Clutch, Orange Goblin and High on Fire.

In times of these economical problems in Europe, not all the news from Greece is persé bad. For example, Planet Of Zeus. Playing gigs since 2000 and still going strong, even stronger then ever. Sold out gigs in Greece, support of Monster Magnet, Karma To Burn, ... and even a full headline European tour...

I missed them in Belgium because I didn't know they were playing (their first gig) here a couple of days ago. And I surely regret it.

Another thing to mention is their creativity and hard work they put in the video clips. It is always neat when the eye is also pleasured.

Songs to hear/see:

Vanity Suit

Leftovers

The Restless Wanderer

The Restless Wanderer.
A blog about sharing the best things in must have music.

What is it all about?

It's about me, a regular dude from Belgium, living the life to it's fullest and enjoying music more than you could imagine.

The Restless Wanderer

restless (comparative more restlesssuperlative most restless)
  1. Not satisfied to be at rest or in peace; averse to repose; eager for change; discontented.

I have a non stop hunger for new music, hence I'm restless. I can't stop searching new music, knowing there is so much more awesome and yet undiscovered music to be found drives me crazy. I like to go out and support the locals.

         wanderer (plural wanderers)
  1. One who wanders, who travels aimlessly.

Sometimes I really don't know where I am heading to. I just go forth and listen/watch to that what crosses my path. It isn't just heading to one pinned point, you need to go "off-road" and see what else is there out in the great beyond.

I know most of these texts won't make much sense, but it is for me a way to express who I am, and if you don't like it, just close the browser and go listen to one off your ke$ha songs or whatever.

And because I really don't know how to end this nonsense post I'll just share some music...
